Bag it up

So I got this new camera and I wanted to start carrying it around with me.
But as I'm a bit clumsy this baby would need some serious protection.
No leather casing available for this type, I wondered if I would be doomed
to use a "not so very charming, to say the least" touristy kind of bag....

I figured to give it a try to see if I could produce a better option.
I found an old leather shoulder bag, that could be perfect with some shape adjustments.

As this baby has a thin body and longer lens then average,
I would need to shape the case around it.

This leather, long strapped bag looks good in size, and will do the trick.

I took apart the bag by opening the side seams and folded it open.
Draw around the camera on paper to get your pattern.
Don't forget it needs a top and a bottom part, you can just draw it one time and flip around,
as the lens is not centered.

Then you cut out all the parts from the leather adding some extra space for your seams.
I used an old jersey scarf to add some lining for extra protection on the inside.
Make sure to use strong yarn and a sharp needle, I did it by hand a no sewing machine available. Sew all parts together in-side-out.

If you turn it with the goods side out, check if all the seams are closed properly or if you mist a part. I added the strap of the bag on the edge
to wrap around the camera to keep it all in place.

And you got yourself an unique and perfectly fitted camera bag.
Ready to go!

Trend alert: statement coats

This season the statement coat is really taking over.

No basics allowed.

Seen with rich embellishments, unexpected color blocking and colored furs to stand out.
Get a statement print or an eye catching solid, or dare to combine these in one piece.
Use matching tones for your outfit to make a complete look to keep you warm and
looking fabulous this cold season.
Make sure to add a matching or clashing beanie and some fab shades.

Feeling GREEN

Today's color inspiration is green, not the fresh minty green we enjoyed this summer, but a more sophisticated hue with a grayish undertone.
Still fresh but refined, this Neptune Green is lovely in prints,
accessory's and as a bold solid.

And in this same color, great words of wisdom, what do you choose to change???

Color coordinated week

Last week on Tuesday my college noticed I was wearing pink just like the day before.
Maybe the pink from my hair has entered my brain a little ;-)....

I'm not really a girly girl, barbie chica who wears pink all the time, but I thought it would be fun to make this a color coordinated week and wear all shades of pink from
light baby hues, to sassy coral and hot fuchsia pink.

Check out my daily diary of my looks last week, as I laid it all out on my bed.

Monday: striped a-symmetrical cardi, silk ruffled top with dots, flowy paisley printed trouser, big hoop earrings with striped espadrilles and flip-flops.

Tuesday: printed A-line top, pink stretchy mini skirt, skull necklace and killer heels to show a little leg.

Wednesday: Silk wrinkled top, boyfriend jeans, scarf as belt and red dancing shoes with lace laces to spice up this casual look.

Thursday: Hot pink flowy blouse, black pants with shiny stripes, bedroom loafers with mustaches and bright yellow hanger necklace.

Friday: Black T, kimono top with flowers, baggy de-stressed jeans, flip-flops and golden cuff necklace for a bit of glamour on a casual Friday.

Saturday, Gay Pride day: Sexy fuchsia dress, with one sleeve and golden zipper.
Killer heels, chain necklace, sparkle silver purse and scarf’s in my hair for a special touch.

Cotton Candy Hair

 HAIR # 1

Lately I have just been bumping into pastel shaded hair everywhere.
Online and in magazines it seems the new 012 summer trend and I love it.
Not afraid to experiment I have tried several colors years ago when working as a hairdresser's assistant.

What will it be, fresh minty green, baby blue hues or bright girly pinks???

But as I'm determent to grow my hair, it does not seems the smartest thing to do.

But I have found the best solution ever, you can do it for a night out, and try all the shades without feeling guilty.
With "Soft Pastels" you can just apply any color to your hair and wash it right out after a day or two.

The only thing that is left to do is choose your first color.

My original golden blond color ----->
( I should get my dead end cut judging by this picture ;-))

Twist a lock of your hair and rub up-and-down with the crayon.

Off-course I choose the pink this first time for a real cotton-candy coup.

Also great when braided, to show off the contrast.

Give it a try and have fun doing it....
Don't be afraid, and enjoy the looks you'll be getting.

Collage #1 #2 #3

Ripping up magazines is really against my nature,
but the result of these quirky sexy collages is worth it.

I loved making them for a magazine project a few years ago.
Just made a new one to add to my book.

Just be a QUEEN...
